Wind map
The live wind map is at wind.charter.boats — an animated, terrain-aware forecast you can scrub hour-by-hour. It's a standalone app.
Where the data comes from
Marine and wind forecasts are currently sourced from Open-Meteo (free, no authentication, ~14-day horizon). There is currently no first-party /api/wind endpoint on charter.boats/api — if you need raw wind data programmatically today, call Open-Meteo's marine and forecast APIs directly.
First-party collection is already running: boats in the instrument program send their wind readings (from a Signal K / NMEA feed) to charter.boats using a per-boat device key issued for that boat. That ingestion is private to the program, not a public API — to take part, use Get involved above. There is no public endpoint for querying the collected wind data yet; if one opens, it will be documented on this page.
